This year we started our already long-planned luxury combination in the U.S. and the Caribbean . After nearly eight and a half hour flight from Frankfurt to New York aboard the program of Lufthansa randomly plays our absolute favorite song "Empire State of Mind" by Alicia Keys. A really great mood for exciting days in the Big Apple and one of the most exciting cities in the world and our luxury holiday in the Caribbean .
Once we are through immigration through and our luggage have taken delivery, we take a private transfer to the luxury hotel The Ritz -Carlton New York, Central Park, which, as the name suggests, right on Central Park and therefore just a short walk from Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue, lies with the numerous shops and boutiques.
Typical of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Group hotel expertly combines traditional elegance and modern comfort combined with first class service and culinary delights in the restaurants. Our room, a park view room offers approximately 42 square meters lot of space to relax and unparalleled views of Central Park.
After the long flight we spend the rest of the afternoon in the beautiful spa area, led by La Prairie and pamper ourselves with a relaxing massage. We spend the evening at the famous restaurant "BLT Market". Here are a varied menu and seasonal dishes skillfully prepared under the direction of chef Laurent Tourondel.
The next day we plunge into the full life of the city, discovering the coolest sushi bars, stormed the Apple Store, remember us at The Museum of Modern Art and enjoy the view from the "Top of the Rocks", the observation deck of Rockefeller Center. Of course, we also use the varied shopping offer and visit the shops of 5th Avenue. Finally, we visit one of the numerous and incredibly good sushi bars that can not be found in this variety and quality in Europe!
After a fantastic stay at our luxury hotel in New York, the journey continues to Montego Bay on the beautiful island of Jamaica. At the airport we already welcomed by Ken Smythe, the chief of a chauffeur service company. Ken has been at the airport a box with cool drinks there and greeted us warmly. The ride to our house with the name Tranquility only takes about 20 minutes. Also, the house staff welcomed us warmly, making us feel right at home. The Tranquility Villa is located directly on a sandy beach with views across the bay to Montego Bay. The on-site pool and the delicious food the cook Lucinda ensure an unrestricted holiday feeling. Actually, we do not want to leave this luxury holiday villa.
However, we do some excursions on the island to know country and people bsser. In Negril we admire the sunset, for example, in the famous "Ricks Cafe". Gather here daily death-defying cliff divers, who plunge fearlessly the 14 meters down into the Caribbean Sea. A quite impressive spectacle for the faint hearted and even with one of the excellent long-drinks from Rick to enjoy.
After a relaxing week in this Caribbean vacation villa for rent, it pulls us back into the city! Our next and final destination is in the vibrant South Beach Miami. We live here in the Art Deco District in Miami Beach, directly on the luxury hotel "The Setai". As the sister hotel of the famous "Chedi" in Muscat, the style of the house is influenced by Asian décor. From here you have a breathtaking view of the sea and the lush gardens with three swimming pools opened to us. Of course, we reach of even walking a fine selection of restaurants and a true hotel highlight, the former Versace mansion, The Villa by Barton G. ", which has been converted with great attention to detail in a true luxury hotel, is unequaled.
Not only the great luxury hotel The Setai, but also the well-known beach of Miami and the unique feel of South Beach crowns this end our trip. The Art Deco District has developed very well over the last 10 years
developed. In particular, the facades were polished to a high gloss and new upscale hotels and middle class have been added (W Hotel, Delano, The Setai South Beach). Besides good restaurants and bars are also nice shops, boutiques and souvenir shops.
All in all a very exciting holiday on three very different places that have impressed us all and touches your way - whether luxury hotel in New York and Miami or exclusive holiday villa with staff on the beach. The mixture made us very happy and we go on the last day comfortably to Miami International Airport and fly back - with Lufthansa over the pond. And who would have thought it, Alicia Keys is still singing your song New York for us.
